After I made my last post I ended up hitting the couch and watching some TiVo. After watching two episodes of ‘Man vs Wild’ I managed to catch about 10 minutes of sleep before getting woken up by the invisible midget who keeps doing ‘Riverdance’ on my back.
Once awake, I ate some breakfast and took my pain pill in a futile attempt to find peace. I started channel surfing in an attempt to try and get tired, when I came across a show I used to love but have not seen in several years – ‘The West Wing’. I watched an episode and was totally drawn in by the story. Luckily there was a second episode on right after. By the time the second episode started, Jess had woken up and come out into the living room with me. As it turns out, she also was a fan of the show back in the day.
Why am I even bringing this up? I find it fascinating when something like that happens. You watch a show, or listen to a song and are totally into it for the longest time. Then a few years go by and you end up totally forgetting about it. Then one day, you come across one of these artifacts and you’re totally taken back to the time when you used to watch/listen to that media. Then at the end you always end up saying the same thing. “Man, I totally forgot all about that. I would watch/listen to that more often”
Then of course, you go to Amazon.com and find out each season is still selling for $45, or the whole entire series for $229. Then you suddenly remember why it’s been a few years since you’ve seen the show!
