The Waiting Game

That pretty much sums up my day so far. I dedicated this weekend to working on a website i/o Computers got contracted to do, and the design is all up to how the logo turns out. So, I finished up what I thought was a great logo this morning, and sent it to the client with 2 other logos for approval. I finished it up this morning and sent it off to the clients. That was bout 6 hours ago. I need to get some input before I go any further, so for now, I am in a permanent holding pattern. In fact, I even did some Christmas shopping online and got some gifts for JP and Jess.

And so the wait continues….

Off For The Weekend…Kinda

I finally have a weekend off from work. I haven’t had a full weekend off since the beginning of November. Although I do have off this weekend, I will be spending most of it doing i/o Computers stuff. But, since I’ll be working for my company and not someone else’s, that okay with me.

Now that I am the boss at work, I get to do all kind of cool stuff like make rules and such. To that end, I wrote and approved a new permanent schedule for everyone in the office. So, with the exception of every third Saturday and when someone takes vacation, me new schedule is essentially Monday – Friday 6am-3pm. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Jess still has to work all weekend, which is really alright with me. Since I have to get a lot of i/o stuff done, I don’t think I would be able to spend much time with her anyway. Plus, she’ll be home by 5pm tomorrow, so if I get up around 7am and get to work, I should be able to get almost 10 hours in before she gets home. I really don’t mind working for 10 hours if it’s for me.

Hell, I might even find some time to play a game or two in between!!

A Cold Start

It is a beautiful morning! It’s sunny out, the sky is a deep blue color, and it’s a nice balmy 16 degrees out. Yeah…16 degrees!

I normally like the cold weather, and yes, I realize we’re in December. But, you also have to factor in that less than a week ago it was 70 degrees out. Thats a 54 degree difference. I’d call that a little extreme.

Christmas is fast approaching and I find myself having a hard time getting into it this year. We just came off the wedding which consumed every last morsel of our free time, and when we came back from the honeymoon, Jess started working 6 days a week for her Holiday schedule. So, now I barely see her. Add to that the fact that my work is busy as hell, I just took a promotion, and i/o Computers is busy, I don’t have as much free time as I would like either. Our tree has been up for a few weeks, but my outside Christmas lights are still sitting in a bag on the porch. By the looks of things, they may not get up at all this year. And you know the funny thing about that, as much as I love Christmas lights, I’m ok with that fact that they may not get put up. It’s weird really.

I start shopping for Jess this week as well. I think that maybe once I do that it may feel a bit more like Christmas. Plus I am finally getting another person for my office next week, which should make things a little easier to handle.

As for me, it’s time to hop in the shower, gas up the vehicle, and head to work. Later…

Things have been busy in the world of i/o Computers lately. We closed a nice deal for a website design on Sunday for some people I know that are starting their own business. This should be a challenging design in th fact that it’s an e-commerce site with a retail section, and a members only section for whole with EIN verification. But, we like challenges like this!

Work is work. I’m not the department manager of installed sales, which means all the shit flows directly to me. But that’s ok. You have to take the good with the bad sometimes.

Jess’s birthday is Wednesday which should be nice since we’re both off. We’re probably going to catch a movie in the afternoon, and then drive down to Easton to meet Kelly and Katie for dinner at The TExas Roadhouse. Should be a really fun time!

I think that’s all I really have to talk about. I’m actually thinking about going to bed in a few minutes since I an exhausted. Working all week, and then spending over 10 hours doing i/o Computes stuff on your day off takes a but out of you. Add to the fact that I could not shut my brain off last night and didn’t end up going to be until almost 1:30am with an alarm set for 4:45am, you can imagine I was not a happy camper this morning. It it wasn’t for my damn work ethic, I so would have called off this morning and slept in. But, duty calls.

And with that, I’m outa here. Later….
