Well, it’s not even June yeat and already we’re into the 90s. Jess and I, being cold weather people, are not enjoying this. I mean sure, I love a nice hot summer day where you sweat and sweat and then jump into a nice pool, but that’s supposed to be at least another month away. Hell, we put in both air conditioners on Monday and then went out and bought another 10,000 btu unit for the living room!

Ok, I’m better now.

So, I’ve had the cable modem since Friday, and I have to say that I am loving bit of it. Get it?

Seriously though, I really am loving the cable modem, and on the other side of the coin, I’m not using it as much as I thought I would as I seem to be watching more TV now that I have 80 some channels of digital cable. Most interesting….

Life is pretty good at the moment. We have the high speed, Marmalade is about to have her kittens, and I’m a little over a month away from a nice week-long vacation. Things are pretty sweet.

Well, my oven just beeped so that means it’s time to throw in the fries. Since it’s hot as hell out there (91 degrees), it’s a prefect night to cook out! Later….

Today is a good day. I got my cable modem today, as well as my regular cable. So, while setting up the network, I was watching 3 episodes of STNG on Spike. Very nice.

In prep for the new phat pipe, I went to Best Buy after work and bought a new Netgear 802.11g wireless router. While there, I saw they had some hard drives on clearance and I just couldn’t resist picking up a nice Western Digital 320gb SATA drive for the sweet price of $99. Hells yeah!

Jess is away for the weekend, and quite frankly, I don’t see me getting much sleep. So, on that note, I’m off to play in cyberspace and maybe watch some TV. Later…

I have a rather big announcement to make. Ok, it’s not-so big for most people, but for me and Jess it is rather large.

This Friday, men from the cable company are coming to the house and installing 85 channels of cable TV and a 8mbps cable modem.

Finally, the Twevman can leave the dark, gloomy, seedy world of dial-up internet behind.

And the peasants rejoice!!!

Wow, you get away from a computer and the internet for a few days and everything goes to hell. I’m behind on all the blog I read, I’m behind on all the web comics I read, and most of all, I’m waaay behind in my email. But, I’m back and everything should be back to normal soon.

We spent the weekend in New Jersey staying with Jess’s mom. It was fun, although Sunday was a bit back-breaking helping her dig out a flower bed that was literally full of roots from an old tree. But, after doing that for about 3 hours, I went inside and took a ncie hot shower, and then passed out on the couch for about 2 1/2 hours.

We got home late on Sudnay night, and I was able to grab a few hours of sleep before I had to be at work at 6am.  When I got home from work, Jess and I went out to a nice dinner at Red Robin, and then went to Cinemark to see “The DaVinci Code”.

Contrary to what most reviews say, I though the movie was really excellent. True, I haven’t quite read through the book yet (I’m on chapter 5), but I really enjoye dthe movie. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I toyed with Jess on the phone on my commute home today about going to see it again tonight. I really can’t wait to get some time and finish the book.

Tonight is the season finale of “House”, so Jess and I will have our butts firmly planted in front of the TV from 8-9 tonight. I only watch about 3-4 TV shows every week, and this is the last one to have its finale, so after tonight, I am officially untethered from the TV. Ahh….sweet summer freedom!!

Well, I’ve got some more catching to do online, so I’m going to throw on this week’s TWiT, make my rounds, and then make dinner. Later…

Got back from our weekend in New Jersey late last night, and opened this morning. Came home, went out to dinner, and then went and saw “The DaVinci Code”. –Good flick.– Now I get to work the next 2 days by myself with a ton of shit going out. Oh the joy. But, I’m tired as hell right now, so it’s bedtime for me. More to come tomorrow…

Well, here I am spending another boring Saturday at work. I had a whopping one installer go out this morning with 2 replacement windows, so now I’ve got to fill the rest of the day with something. I think after lunch, I’ll go into receiving and clean out my install bays. Speaking of lunch, Paul, Wally and I are going for lunch around noon. It should be fun.

Jess is of course off this weekend, and I think she’s going to start painting the living room. We finally picked out the color last week and got a quart in a satin finish to test on the walls to see if we really liked it. After 3 coats and letting it dry for 24 hours, we realized satin finish looks like shit in there. It has no shine to it and looks just like a flat finish. So, we’re going to go with a semi-gloss finish to give the room a little life.

As far as I know, we’re not doing much tonight. We’ll probably stay in and hang out – especially if it’s going to rain as hard as they say it’s supposed to tonight. We’ll probably finish watching parts 2 & 3 of ‘The Triangle’ since we both fell asleep halfway through part 2 last night. The first part was really good, and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series. Also, I may try and play some games either tonight or tomorrow. I’ve had the itch to play either some ‘Metal Gear Solid’ or some ‘Tekken 5′ lately. If I don’t get a chance to this weekend, I’m off Tuesday and Wednesday, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to then.
