Lazy Sunday

Today has been a nice relaxing day do far. All I’ve done so far today is play ‘Castlevania: Cures of Darkness’ and read my Penny Arcade book. Hell, I haven’t even showered yet today! In fact, to give you an idea about what kind of day it’s been, I tired my Batman fleece blanket that Jess made for me into a cape this morning so it just hangs off of my shoulders and keep me warm, not matter what position I’m in. How lazy is that??

Right now I’m making a wee bit to eat while Jess is taking a nap. Not too sure what we were supposed to do for dinner tonight, but I’m going to go out on a limb here ans say she’s probably going to be on her own tonight.

After I’m done eating, I think I may read my Penny Arcade book a bit more, and them play some more Castlevania. Damn it feels good to be lazy!

Close To Perfect

Yesterday was close to the perfect day.

Jess and I woke up early, which is a nice change ona day off rather than sleeping half the day away. We took a shower, and then had a nice breakfast together. I then took her to her 9:15am eye doctor appointment. While she was in having her exam, I sat in the waiting room watching ‘Batman Begins’ on my video iPod. After Jess was done with her exam and ordering her new contacts, we went to the mall to Lens Crafters to get her new prescription put into the frames she picked out there. She gave them all of her information, and hey told us the glasses would be ready in about an hour and a half. So, we decided to hang out at the mall for a while. It was fun since there was a poster show there and such. I ended up buying the new Penny Arcade book, and Jess bought a new pair of boots that we on sale for a ridiculous amount. We went to the food court after that, and had a nice lunch. For those of you interested enough, I had Subway and Jess had Arby’s. Better to know now before you get to the quiz section at the end of this post! After lunch, we got and her new glasses and drove out to my parent’s house to pick up a few things. After we left my parent’s house, we came home for a little bit and read before we went to dinner. Ahh….dinner. We met Joel and his girlfriend Katie at the Asian Cafe for some sushi. As always, it was most excellent. After dinner, they had to drive to Philly, so Jess and I walked over to Blockbuster and rented 2 movies. We ended up getting “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse Of The Ware-Rabbit’ and ‘Saw II’. Both movies were excellent, although I will have to admit nothing in ‘Saw II’ really shocked me. The ending was excellent as I hoped it would be, but nothing too gory to handle in this one. After the movies, we went into the bedroom, watched Saturday Night Live with the delicious Natalie Portman hosting, and went to bed.

All in all, a most excellent day.

Today is mostly going to be spent straighting up the house, and playing some video games. If we go out at all today, it’s going to be to the grocery store, and maybe my sister’s house to see my niece’s new bedroom. Other then that, it’s a Lazy Sunday.

Yay!

Man…what a day!

Let’s start of by talking about the weather. When I left the house this morning at 5:45am, it was just starting to sleet out. By about 8am, it was full blown snow. Then, around 2pm, it started sleeting again. So, we have a sheet of ice, with snow on top, with more ice opn top of that. That does not make for good shoveling conditions. Yes, I know I have a snow blower, but honestly, I prefer to shovel when it’s less that 6 inches.

And here is some good news totally un-weather related.

I was informed this morning that I got that new position I put in for at work. All I have to do is train my manager on how to run the department (ironic, isn’t it?) and I can start my new job. The job itself should be most interesting, but the hours are what drew me to this job. No more working until 10pm or 11pm for this boy!! The latest I should be working until from now on is 8pm. I like the sound of that!!

Yesterday, we also booked a DJ. This means we’ll actually have a professional playing music at our wedding rather than me with my iPod and some speakers. (I could have pulled that off I tell you!!)

And last but not least, I actually bought a new video game yesterday. I ended up picking up ‘Castlevania: Curse of Darkness’.

It’s actually a continuation of ‘Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse’. You start off 3 years after Trevor Belmont slays Dracula. I’m only about 2 ½ hours in to it, but so far, it has been pretty kick ass!!

Bright and Early

To say that I was exhausted yesterday would be a gross understatement. Even though I had the day off yesterday, the past few stressful days of work really caught up to me. Thankfully, I passed out last night like a corpse and woke up this morning fully rested.

In fact, I was up this morning at 6am. Awake and full of energy, I went and got Jess’s car filled with gas before she went to work, picked up some fresh orange juice, and even got a dozen donuts – all before Jess even got out of bed. I’m used to being up this early, and I thought it would be nice to get her breakfast she she had to put up with me being moody and tired all night last night.

I am once again off today. I foresee a day filled with video games and geeking out on the computer. I need a nie day just for myself. Who knows, if it warms up a little bit, I may even go for a walk.

Speaking of weather, while I was out fetching donuts this morning, I head on the radio that we’re supposed to get 2”-5” of snow tomorrow. I for one would welcome the snow since we’ve barely had any this year. In fact, I can honestly only think of one real storm we’ve had this year, and it was bad enough for me to abandon my car and walk home from trying to get to work. While it was a slight pain in the ass at the moment, looking back, it was a pretty nice winter memory. It was peaceful walking back in the snow with no one on the streets at all. And every once and a while, you’d see some lightning and hear the rumble of thunder. Then once I made it home, I remember getting dressed into warm clothes, and sitting on the bed with Jess watching the snow out the window as we watched the Today Show. Yeah, it is a good winter memory indeed.
