Let’s do a little catching up.
Thanskgiving, although a very long day, totally kicked ass. Jess and I slept in a bit in the morning, then woke up, had toast and hot chocolate for breakfast, and watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. After that, I worked on the computer a bit and she wrapped some Christmas presents until we had to go to my parent’s house for dinner. Dinner there was good, and around 3pm, we left there and headed southeast to New Jersey. This is where it got interesting since we hit a very large snowstorm on the way there. Goign 40mph on the interstate is not good when you’re already running a wee bit behind. Anyway, we got there in plenty of time and had another most excellent dinner. We made it home by midnight so I could go to bed for work the next morning.
Black Friday was actually pretty tame this year. I’m used to mass chaos coming from an electronics background, and what we saw on Friday was nothing more then a busy Saturday in the summer. In fact, dollar wise, it was a lot tamer then that. After work, we went out for a nice celebration dinner. You see, I got 3 different bonuses in my paycheck on Friday. These only added up top be $110, but working for a company that gives yearly pay raises of about $0.15, this is a big deal. So, we went out to our favorite sushi place and had a nice little feast. Afterwardsm we went down to Blockbuster and rented ‘The Life and Death of Peter Sellers’. A strange, but excellent movie. I highly reccomend it.
Saturday and Sunday were spent doing various things. I had to work on Saturday morning, and after dinner, we went out and did some more Christmas shopping. I saw that Circuit City was running a sale on certain DVDs — 2 for $12 — so we went and added a few must have titles to our library. While I took care of that, Jess was over at Target picking up stuff for her family. I met her over there, picked up Christmas lights for the outside of the house, and a few presents for my family. After that, we headed back home and pretty much went to bed.
Sunday morning was spent catching up on some much needed sleep. As for the afternoon, I spent that getting all of my hunting gear together and putting up the outside Christmas lights. Jess spent the afternoon wrapping more Christmas presents, ordering her wedding dress (she finally found one!!), and going grocery shopping. We had nice dinner of steak and french fries before I left on my hunting trip.
Today was spent in the wood hunting that elusive whitetail deer. As has been the trend for the last several years, I managed to get myself one. Although I did almost have an opportunity for a nice 6 point buck (no clear shot), I did manage to get a nice sized doe. There are pics of her over at the moblog, but just in case you’re too lazy, I’ll post them right below.
