AIM Beta “Triton”

AOL released a new beta of their AIM client today. Although I support Open Source Source 100%, and use it whereever/whenever I can, I must say that I am a sucker for beta software. My IM client of choice for baout 6 months now has been Gain. I love the interface, and the fact that I can log into all of my various IM accounts (AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo!) all at the same time though one program. Add to that tabbed IMing (a must!) and conversation logging (another must!), and I can’t see a reason to go back to AIM ever.

And then I read about the beta today.

Apparently they added my 2 must have featues into this new beta dubbed “Triton”. Although I doubt it will replace Gaim on my desktop, I had to be a sucker and bite.

Although I really hate to admit it, my first impressions thsu are are pretty good ones. The interface is clean, and the layout of the windows is very nice. I have to play around with it for a few more days to really get a good feel for it though. The one thing that totally keeps me way from using AIM is the mandatory ad that is displayed at the top of your buddy window. Doesn’t AOL have enough money to keep my Bussy List free from ads?

Anyway…here’s a screen shot of what she looks like.

With Teeth

I just got (downloaded) the new Nine Inch Nails CD today. I really liked the first single, ” The Hand That Feeds”, but I had no clue what to expect of the CD as a whole.

I must say that I am quite pleased with it. It’s not something that I could listen to over and over like “Meteora”, but I can definitely see me listing to this all summer long.
