I just got done posting most of our Corning trip pictures. I didn’t post all of them, but sort of a “best of” collection. Check them out over at the right —–> in the moblog or just click here for a direct link.

Admiring Times Long Gone
While eating dinner tonight, I was at the Internet Archive looking at my old site designs. Man, some of them were really good and some were just plain horrible. But, in looking at all the designs from the past and my current design (which I like) there is one stark contrast between them — the old designs incorporate a lot of “personal” stuff in the site while this one does not. Sooo….I think I may have to rectify that this weekend. I already have a few idea about how to bring back some very popular old features and maybe even one or two more. I’m not giving out any hints or setting up a time table because this is strickly on the back burner right now. Since I’m off this weekend I may spend all afternoon tomorrow working on it, or I may not even think about it again at all. But, just thought I would share that with everyone. Now, time to clean my house before Jess gets here….

Back Home
We just got back into town about 2 hours ago. We unpacked the car, ate some dinner, and watched the 7 o’clock news. Right now Jess is practicing and I’m catching up on all my online rounds. We had a most awesome trip. I’ll write up full details tomorrow and download the 50+ pics I took and post some of them tomorrow as well. Right now, I need to run to the grocery store and then it’s time to relax for a bit and then bed…I have work in 10 1/2 hours.

Almost Gone
Tomorrow morning at about 6am Jess and I will be departing for Corning New York. What’s in corning you ask?? My Christmas present technically speaking. As part of my Christmas bounty, Jess is taking me to the Corning Museum of Glass and we’re going to take a workshop on blowing glass. It should be a blast! On top of all that, we’re staying here tomorrow night! It honestly seems a little too classy for me, but what the hell!!
I’m going to try and photoblog some stuff, so you can check that out. See ya on Wednesday!!!

They Hate Me
So, I wake up this morning, later then I wanted too but hey, it’s the weekend, right? Anyway, I wake up this morning and apparently it snowed again last night. Like, almost as much as it did all damn day yesterday. So….all that work I did outside in the freezing snow, clearing it all and then ice-melting everything….totally needs to all be redone now. Normally I really love snow…but now…not so much.
Time to bundle up and go back out there. Right now it’s a balmy 6 degress with a winchill of -12. Perfect weather for working outside!! (if you’re a penguin)

Enter Winter…Big Time
So, we’ve been dealing with sub-zero temperatures for the past few days and whind chill around -20. It’s January, so that’s expected. What hasen’t really been happening is the snow. Up until now I think about 2 inches was the max we got. Well, it’s here now. The snow started falling about 10am and it looks like we’re in for about 8-12 inches. I know this isn’t that much compared to other years and other storms, but up until about a week ago, this was one mild winter. Not so much anymore. Luckily, I went to the grocery store this morning before the snow started and the house is fullly stocked for Jess and I. Plus, I’m off until Wednesday, so Ihave nothing to do today except eat and play videogames. Take THAT Mother Nature!!!!

It Figures….
Sometimes I really think the Gods have it in for us. So I leave work at 10pm on Tuesday and start to head south to Kutztown in the subzero weather to spend 2 days with Jess. On the way down, I give her a call to let her know that I am on the road. I’m feeling really good having just about conquered my virus-of-death that I had for a week, and am really looking forward to spending some quailty time with Jess since I was a ball of whine with no voice last weekend. So, she picks up the phone crying and in pain. (never a good sign) I frantically ask her wjhat wrong and she tells me she has been nautious all night and that she just wants to puke her guts out. Great… So, I call her periodically through my 90 minute drive to check in with her and eat time I call I get hung up on sudddenly so she can go puke. So I get down there and when I walk through the door there she is in the bathroom, hugging the garbage can, expelling her innards. Needlesss to say this went on all night and I ended up sleeping out in the living room by myself for fear of getting puked on in the middle of the night. So, We arrive at Wednesday. She was doing fine when she first got up, but then started to feel sick again. She took some Tylonal and then went to sleep. This was around 11:30am or so. She finally woke up at almost 6pm. She was feeling worse then ever and asked me to take her to the health center here on campus. So I take her and as it turns out she has the stomach flu. Normally I wouldn’t care about this and take care of her without question, but I was threatened with bodily harm last week that I had to be better by this Sunday for our weekend trip to Corning, New York and our stay at this awesome bed and breakfast that she picked out as part of my Christmas present. So, now that I am feeling like 98% better, it looks like she is down for the count.
It’s always something with us I suppose…
On a good note it finally stopped snowing here. It snowed literally all day yesterday but the weird thing is we only got about 1-2 inches of snow. But now I know that when it snows down here in Kutztown people tend to freak out a bit. They drive too fast, and no one cleans the roads right away. I had to go to the grocery store for her last night and while I was out I stopped for dinner for myself and rented 2 movies. Let me just say that since I am from the northeast I’m used to driving in this stuff, but I don’t think anyone around here is. Hell, on the way to the grocery store an ambulance in front of me alsmost wiped out onto the sidewalk. Never a good sign when to need to call an ambulance for an ambulance.
Now for a funny story. On Tuesday at work I wore this DeWalt hoodie that I got from DeWalt last year for free. It’s quite warm and good for the subzero temps we had that day. So, it ends up me being the last one to close my department on Tuesday so I’m rushing around trying to get everything done so I can punchout at 10pm, buy my windshield washer fluid, get gas, and get on the road to Kutztown. So, I do all of this and am on the road by 10:30pm. I decide to forego dinner locally and pick some up at the rest stop in Hickory Run. So, I stop there and grab a bite to eat at the McDonalds. After I’m done, I decided to use the bathroom befor I continue my journey. So, I go in, belly up to the urinal, lift up my sweatshirt shirt and—I feel something heavy in my shirt. I reach in my hoodie pocket and realize that it’s the hardware phone from work. Oops! Oh well. The store is close, I’m going away for 2 days, and they’re just going to have to live without it for 2 days as I am not going to drive back tomorrow to deliver it to them. I thought it was funny, I’m sorry if you have no sense of humor and thought it was not.
Well, I think I wrote enough for now. I think it’s time for a shower and then some lunch. Or maybe that in the reverse order. Eiether way, wet & naked + chinese food is the key here. Later…
