Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I know for most of us today this means eating a lot more turkey, pie and stuffing then we probably ever should, and to be honest, I love it!! In fact, I’m lucky enough to have 2 dinners this year. I have the first one with my family today at 12:30pm and then one with Jess’s family in New Jersey at 5pm. Mmmmm….double-dinner time!

So what am I thankful this year? I’m very thankful that I have Jess this year, that I have a great caring family, great friends who put up with me when I tend to disappear for weeks at a time, and believe it or not, my little fishies.

So, while I’m off enjoying time with both my familes today, I hope you guys get the opportunity to do the same. And in the time honored tradition of my people…NOOCH!

Rain

It’s a crappy, windy, chilly day out and I just can’t seem to get started today. I slept in until aroun 11am since I was up until almost 5am hanging out with JP. But since then, I’ve basically been in this cold fog today. I can’t get warm, and I can’t seem to focus on anything. Maybe a nice hot shower will do me good. Yeah…I think that’s where I’m headed right now!

The Holiday Spirit

It may sounds weird to start talking about the Holiday Spirit so soon but it weird to me to actually have it this year. I think that this is sue to the fact that I am truly happy this year. Aside from my current finaincial situation, everything in my life is great! I have a girl that I love madly and who loves me back, I’m employed, have a roof over my head, a great family, and new fishies to play with. I think this is going to be one of the best Holiday Seasons in a long time! Even Jess is in the Holiday mood. Check it out!!

Speaking of my fish, I never thought that owning fish again would be so great. Last time I had fish it was such a struggle to keep the tanks clean and them alive. But wish prior knowledge under my belt, this take has been almost no work at all thanks to a lot of good advice from a lot of people who are smarter then me. In fact, it’s really funny how much my focus has changed. It used to be I hated working in the same plaza as Best Buy since I was always tempted to go over there and by some DVDs or a nice little tech gadget. But now, I really hate working in the same plaza as PetSmart because I always want to go over there and buy a new fish or something for my tank. Over the weekend Jess and I went and got a snail for the tank (pic in the moblog) and our first live plant. Now that I have them, I want more snails and a lot more live plants. They really rock! Last night as I was talking to Jess on the phone, I looked over at my tanks and for the first time ever all of my fish were out and swimming around. For some reason, it really made me feel good to have them all out enjoying the tank. It’s a really weird and cool feeling at the same time.

On another note, we’re about 72 hours away from Turkey Day! As most people know, I love Thanksgiving just for the simple fact that it has most of some of my favorite food all lumped into one big meal. And this year, I get to have 2 meals! I get to have one meal at 1pm with my family here, and then another dinner at 5pm with my new family in Jersey. I was supposed to have a 3rd dinner on Sunday with Jess’s dad, but unfortunately work is a bunch of assholes and wouldn’t give me the day off. Major suckage there.

Speaking of work, that’s where I must start getting ready to go now. I have but one 9 hour shift left and then I have off until 2pm on Friday….yes…BLACK FRIDAY!! Although closing in my store is really nice. We’re pretty much dead by about 5pm and then you just clean up the aftermath the rest of the night. It’ll be good.

Whoa….What A Nap!!

I laid down for a bit after dinner last night becuase I was beat. I wanted to take a shower and then commit the rest of the night to video games, but I decided a need a quick 20 minute nap first. This was at 6pm last night. I just woke up 30 minutes ago.

I think I’m officially caught up on my sleep!

Autumn Dusk

The way the light was coming into my living room and bedroom tonight while the sun was setting gave everything a nice, weird glow. I took a few pics and they came out pretty close to what it actuallu looked like. Click on the pics for the full sized image.

Bite me MSN!

Well, I just got off the phone a few minutes ago and I have now officially cancelled my MSN internet account. w00t!! And to top it all off, as I write this, I have now been connected for 3 days, 4 minutes and 17 seconds and have transferred 936.7 megs. Not too shabby for a $10 a month internet account!!

REVOLUTION!!!

Ok, I know there has been a lot of big g33k news in the past 24 hours. EverQuest 2 drops, Halo 2 drops, but in my opinion, this pales in comparrison to the most important drop of all. After months and months of development, Firefox has finally reached 1.0! What does that mean kids? That means that if you’re already using Firefox—you get a cookie, but you now need to update to 1.0. And for those of you NOT using Firefox…WHAT THE HELL?? Get rid of that piece-of-shit-security-hole-infested-bloated-outdated-non-standards-compliance browser you’re using now (HINT: Internet Explorer) and get with it man!

I have never liked Internet Explorer, that’s no big secret. In fact, I’ve been a diehard Netscape user since back when it was literally version 1.0. So this is sort of full circle for me. I did try out the Mozilla browser when it was in various BETA stages and when it hit 1.0, but I never thought it was a good as it could have been. Then when Mozilla started on their Firebird project (later renamed to Firefox), I tried it and was amazed at the speed. This is by far the fastest and best overall browser on the market. And you know what kiddies?? It’s 100% free. Yep, free as in lice.

So get with it and download Firefox 1.0 today!!
